heres a couple of pics of a friend of mines car. wheels are from bentwheel bob. they went for a good use. he is very appreciative of them. I cant tell you how ugly the aftermarket stuff looks on the y88 cars in my opinion.

I had some aftermarket gold (center) Keysotnes on my Y88 back in 86. Thought they looked pretty sweet for the time.

The toyota SR5? is pretty cool too. A friend of mine had the 5 speed turbo in black. Was actually pretty quick for a truck at the time.

The Y88's don't bring the same money as the Bandit cars do, which I think is a shame. However, that does work to the advantage of those of us that want them.

Most car guys like the iconic T/A Bandit cars. Most T/A Guys like the Y88's.

We are out numbered.

My Y88 has 46k on it and never been painted. 4-speed car with lots of options and a Canada import too. (still has the import sticker inside the door)
I'm always watching the market, not that I'm selling, but just to see what's up. I know Y88's are not bringing huge money, but good examples should always have a little edge. Hopefully they will start gaining on the Y82/84's.

My baby:
Yes, I know. When the wheels got reconditioned, they machined them...

WOW!

Looks a little monkey'd with though? Engine paint looks a little fresh, no yellow on the passengers side & no fuel line insulation. Those seats look awfully beige in color next to the seat belts, but that could be the lighting.

Not trying to tear it apart, but at $89K, & 2500 miles its fair game to talk about.

I'm not sure 2 badly faded posters help add a cent to the value in the ad. Time to adjust those rear spoilers to line up properly and lift that side rear bumper cover. The small areas I'd like to see were cropped out of every shot. An attempt at theft-proof door lock snubbers perhaps. With one giant hood bird, you don't need a second one on a license plate.

Appears to be same vehicle. Interestingly it has both aqua trunk mat and black taillight lens molded pinstriping. I'm not sure when the Y88 were being built without looking at dates, this one seems to indicate after March '78, but not too much.

Gold TA’s, ya, owned one since 79. 46k. Just say no to Bandit cars. Lol
Y88’s are the rare ones.

I saw this thread, it is an old one but, someone brought it back. I enjoyed reading it. Am currently using a Y88 as a daily driver/semi beater. Have had it 5 years but, got it running and driving last fall so, have been driving it about 8 months. Just put a few thousand miles on it during a 5 day road trip. It is a fun car with some upgrades- headers, duals, aftermarket cam, 1.65 rockers, Edel Performer intake.
I just swapped out the ST-10 for the new Tremec TKX 5 speed and like it much better than the 4 speed. It has 3.42s. Paint is original but, quite faded. I also swapped the wheels for a polsihed set of the 79-81 snowflakes. They look so much better than the Y88 wheels IMO.. It has 50 series Dunlops and corners pretty well.
Am really enjoying driving this car each day. Just bought a decal set for it and may be painting her in the coming months.
It will eventually be part of my Pontiac Heaven museum which is in process here in Arizona. Just wanted to share my car here. Is anyone else driving one? or driving an unrestored one?
