I think all 70 models with the tach had the heater to prevent fogging.

I had an April built 70 survivor judge that had the heater setup to the tach.

I have an Oshawa built 1970 GTO Judge, factory UB5 hood tach car, late 06B, second week of June 1970 build date, with hood tach heater nipple on non ac heater box like you posted.
Never heard of an earlier car at a different US assembly plant having one ,neat stuff.

Here is a 03A Pontiac build GTO with the nipple for the hood tach heat. It has a 03-13 ship date.

For me biggest problem was fogging after a car wash. Vent took care of that.

Does anyone have a picture of the nipple on the tach where the hose goes. My 70 Judge has the nipple on the heater box and the hose goes thru 2 check valves or ?, then to back of carb. This is on a mostly original car.

Here's a picture of a faithful reproduction hood tach from RC Tach (Randy Watson) with the nipple for the hose connection.
