Default This is one EV I might consider.

Buick is coming out with a Wildcat EV called the Electra if I read the propaganda right. But, if I had to go electric I would have to give this one serious consideration.

I'm waiting for a nice Buick trimmed EV. Ideally 400+hp, awd and hopefully start getting 200+kw DC charging speed.

I've got this Kia EV (next to my Buick) that I'll honestly say I wish the General built. 3 years ago I'd never have seen myself in a Kia.

Unfortunately I don’t see GM building anything that looks that good. I wish they would.

The pics in the last link are reminiscent of a futuristic extended Audi R8. I would drive it, but not too far because we all know the true range of an ev is always less than advertised (especially in a performance car)

This is what Buick will do.

Having said that, I think this is a very attractive concept and I hope GM builds something like it - either in a Chevrolet or Cadillac - whether electric, hybrid or ICE.

We decided to make the jump to electric and bought a Cadillac LYRIQ yesterday. Combination of rebates, tax credits, and negotiation knocked $14,500 off the MSRP. In addition, her employer offers free electric vehicle charging.
Looked at BMW (ugly), Tesla (boring), Genesis (short range). Now the learning curve begins.

Personal preference, I'm hoping a Buick version of the Lyriq will round the "sharp" Cadillac lines.

Sport 3 model.
After taxes, license, and fees, the total was about $74,000.
Another $7500 as a tax rebate comes when I file my taxes next year. There are income restrictions to this IRA (Bidens Recovery Act) program so not everyone qualifies
The IRS allows transfer of the tax credit to the dealer to be used as part of the downpayment, IF the dealer participates in the program. Our dealer does not.
What he did do was knock off an addition $700 which was the sales tax difference of $7500.

Got Cadillac financing at 3.9% for 48 months plus another $1000 off.
$1000 off for Costco membership
$500 for Military appreciation and an additional $500 for Military appreciation month (May)
Got a phone call today stating that Cadillac provides a $1500 rebate for electrical charger installation or 2 years of free charging at EVgo charging stations.

With gas hovering close to $5.50/gal here in SoCal it kinda made sense to go electric. I have solar panels on the house which will help with the electrical costs, plus the free charging at her work.

No trunk to speak of. The propulsion battery covers the floor length of the car.
12 volt battery, charging unit and electronics under the hood.
There are two versions of the drive train. 350 HP single motor driving the rear axle.
500 HP dual motor for front and rear drive.

I hope the Cadillac ownership experience works out well for you. With gas priced $2.00 a gallon higher in your area than in mine it makes alot more economic sense in your area. Plus the free charging at work helps. At my place of employment only one of our VP's is allowed to plug in for free. I am on the fence about installing a EV charger in my new 2 car detached garage. Keep us informed how it goes please.

Sounds like a rational decision - I was a bit startled by the gas prices in the Bay area last month.

It’s by design by the current administration

I was up there last month, too - it was almost a buck more expensive than down here in LA!
