Im the Teddy Roosevelt type, " Speak softly and carry a big stick"

The new cars with their fake "race mode exhaust" that opens up the injectors on exhaust stroke to produce backfires and any other stupid "manhood compensating" exhaust system should be banned.

The line is easy to draw if its louder than the damaging decibel level for human ears, then its a ticket and inspection.

Exhaust sounds are fun but when its ear bleeding loud and making all the neighbors mad...

The only person who likes your modified exhaust is…..you.

Agreed, motorcyclist are usually the bigger offenders. No, I don't hear your loud pipes on the freeway until you're near the front of my quarter panel. I will still kill you if you're playing around in my blind spot.

Motorcycles are the worst. There are state laws against loud exhaust, but i doubt if they are enforced.

I really hate the raspy exhaust note of late model Mustangs.

In my neck of the woods the cops have a steel rod that they slide into the motorcycle pipes to ensure its not a straight through pipe . So we used to weld a little spark arrestor to prevent the rod to slide in.

Then they changed the regulation , your pipe has to be stock, with the manufacturer's DOTand part number on it still visible .

That really calmed most lound bikers,

When you get pulled over for noise its a 46$ ticket and obviously no points, so bikers with decent budget dont mind collecting them.tickets .

I used to be part of that camp, i got old I guess lol

Kinda related- I run “year of manufacture “ plates on my’63 LeMans. I keep the registered plates under my seat. Technically I can only run them here in Wisconsin to and from a parade if I read the rules correctly. Just waiting for my small town Barney Fife to pull me over on that one. So far no hassles.
My Mercury that I got from my grandfather in ‘85, I have yet to put plates on. My sister had it in South Dakota for a few years, and it now sports her old plates from ‘02. I JUST put the title on my kitchen table yesterday to go to the DMV and put plates on it. I guess I’m getting responsible in my old age. I will be running YOM plates on that one too.
Yes, they are all insured!

Exactly

Why create a law that won't be enforced? Oh wait, it's political....

Just saw this today... since they don't stop the mindless lane-whipping projectile lunacy on I-25, I don't think noise enforcement will be a priority here any time soon...

I've noticed that a super loud exhaust on a late model car just highlights how slow they are when they stomp on it.

Saw a ghetto cruiser chry 300 that was a challenger wanna- be the other day, super loud.
Ya, the new mustangs sound like crap,
my muffler is straight through, and it’s quiet. Love the Borla.

Years ago I had a 2005 GTO that I de-mufflered. One day a lane splitter straight piped Harley pulled up next to me at a stop light. I had my window down and he racked his pipes off in my ear a couple times. Light turns green he hammered it and so did I. Needless to say I smoked his ass and made him eat my pipes. Next stop light he was real quiet and wouldn't even look at me and while I sat there staring at him.
