Default 63 Bonneville gas pedal question

My four speed 63 Bonneville wagon has a gas pedal with no metal trim on it. This matches the untrimmed brake and clutch pedals.

Is this correct for my car, or should I have the fancier gas pedal?

Thanks,
James Q

The trim on the pedals was an option. My '63 Bonneville came without it, though I added the pieces later. (Mine is an auto, so I have two pieces; the emergency brake does not get trim.)

Thanks,

Does anyone know what option package included the pedal trim?

Were the brake and clutch pedal pads ever trimmed?

I looked thrugh my material, James, and I can't come up with either a separate listing for it or any specific reference. I'm thinking now that it might have been included with the power brake option (my Bonneville didn't come with power brakes originally - and as I've said, she had no trim on the pedals). The cars I've seen with the trim have had power brakes. I may have just assumed at the time that anyone ordering power brakes would have ordered a bit more "dress up" for the interior, but I'm rethinking that in light of what I've been unable to find.

I looked through the Accessories catalog as well as my order sheet info from PHS, which lists all available option codes.

Perhaps someone else might be able to shed more light on this.

As to whether the trim included the clutch and smaller brake pedal, my master parts book refers to "4.630 BEZEL- PAD- PLATE, BRAKE AND CLUTCH PEDAL" and lists a number for 1964 (what's annoying is that the 63-75 parts book omits parts which had been discontinued along the way, so I can't tell what the part number was for '63, however, it would seem logical to conclude that the trim was available for both pedals in '63, as well). Again, perhaps someone with an older parts manual could tell for sure. Sorry I can give you anything more definitive.

Thanks,

My car has power brakes, no pedal trim. I don't see the manual pedal pads with trim offered by our host either.

Does anyone have an original manual car w/pb that can shed light?

James Q

No manual transmission clutch and brake pedal trim until 1964 on a B body.
I think that pedal trim was part of the decor group.

Aha! That makes sense all around. I, yoo, thought they would have been part of the decor group, but I'm not seeing them in my docs. That makes the most sense, though.

For what it’s worth, my automatic, power brake Catalina Safari had a trimmed gas and brake pedal.
I will not be using the stock pedals.
If you're interested in it LMK.
