Well with it being posted by toms I would say it's a 544128 early SD intake.

Catalina is back up in the air. Now doing the driver side of the front end rebuild. Should be a little easier, learned a couple tricks from the other side.

Modified 9799068 intake and seperated water crossover.
Used repop exhaust crossover. Drove it Sunday and she ran excellent weather 55-60. There will be a lot more testing in summertime!!!! Fit very well. Enjoyed the project! Note poprivet for throttle cotterpin has already been replaced!!!!! Gerry

One of the bolts is rust welded to steering arm -that connects tie rod to backing plate. I think I’m gonna kill it trying to remove it. Question… can chassis bolts as this be replaced with a grade 8 ?

Got all the junk that was piled on top of it put away where it belongs.
Lifted the dusty tattered cover off of it and looked at it, pondering the next steps towards getting this long stalled-out project going. All in good time I suppose.

It was the nicest day in months and I needed a clean timing cover for the 389. Picked some from the pile and started in.

Engine builder came to my house and we did the breakin, all went well.I had the new Comp hydraulic roller lifters in it and they are quiet. Builder found you HAVE to follow the directions to a T.They are the Evolution lifters.Daved Butler gave them high marks.FWIW,Tom

Took the backroads to cars and coffee this morning. Car ran smooth, no issues. Brakes finally feel good.
That's Mt. Diablo in the background. Found a cool barn on the side of the road and though the red might make for a nice contrast against the green.

Tack welded a couple nuts inside the A arms for the shocks. Nothing worse than those friggin cage nuts breaking loose and spinning. That’s all for today..
