They are about 9" 5/16ths plus or minus 1/32? All my tape measures are worn out.

Hmmm, the guy at Wheelsmith said the only rims he can make accept a 10 1/8 cap. More investigation to do I guess. I dont know if other Pontiac caps are those size or not.

If you can get the correct caps and get the 61-63 wheels just have them widened?Job done?Back in early 60s I had Stockton wheel make me a pair of 14s as that was the only size small slick I could get at the time.Getting what you want amounts to just numbers in a check book.Tom

What’s the difference between’61-62 and the 63’s?
I’m in the sticks, nothing local except tractor parts.

The 61 rims have clips for the poverty caps, both rim and caps are 1 year only parts. 62-3 use the same poverty cap as Drag Star Lemans showed in his pictures. 63 might use a wider rim, not sure. Will have to check the shop manuals to be sure.

Next question-does anyone know of a place that can widen stock rims? Wheelsmith didnt seem to really go this route? I could just run the stock width, but would like to get a little more rubber on the ground. Figured Id start getting prices

You may want to research Stockton Wheel first.

Tried them once back in 1999.
Never again. There are so many other wheel shops to choose from, they made me wait 6 months after taking my money. Who knows things may have changed over the years so do your own research.

Yeah, the one thread I saw here mentioned Stockton wheel, but another member mentioned they had the worst customer service he’s ever seen. So I was hoping maybe someone had a recent good experience.

An idea I had been kicking around is to make a poverty cap adapter for the Mopar wheel. Essentially this would be a laser cut ring then machined for bevels to allow the cap to snap onto the ring
This would be welded or bolted onto the wheel using a fixture. |

Ive seen these before but would like to find a way to make early (63) full size dog dish caps work on a later style wheel.

that’s pretty sneaky!
I’m guessing that is a F.A.S.T. (Factory Appearing Stock Tire) car.

The guy who owned Stockton Wheel at that time died in around 2011, and they've been under new management since. My understanding is service was much improved. There have been a number of discussions about the company over on the HAMB board, a search there may turn up recent reports.
