Wrong hood. '66 had different style hood 'bumps'.

You got it. 66/67 Chevelle hoods don't interchange, so that 67 stuff was grafted onto a 66 hood.

Yes it is, nice looking hood, that took a bit of skill, I always like the 67 SS better.

That El Camino is a restomod - updated engine, transmission, suspension, etc. - so I imagine having a hood that isn't 'correct' for the year wasn't a concern for the owner. It's a pretty sharp car.

Combined the cool 66 front with cool 67 bumps, I give AAA+++ very nice work.

SRR beat you to it (post #7057) but hey, it's worth a repost.

When he stops at school crossings, do children try to board?

Oh yeah, that shaker is offset.

I know the engine is slightly offset in the A bodies, assume this holds true for F bodies. But (if I'm not mistaken) the B bodies didn't need it. Not sure what kind of offsets the later Olds and Chevy shakers used, but this project was doomed...

Those tranny cooler lines are interesting.

That 64 does look good in that combo. We have a 64 Cat convertible project car that is in about that shape. Has me thinking....
