Just from my observations I've drawn @ssumptions..... anyone can correct me if wrong.... but there seems to be a younger age set getting into vintage cars. Seems to be a niche thing with certain (sedan and convertible) favorite cars to mod. Some have thought out suspension mods to accommodate the (to me) cartoonish rims. Some have decent engine bays with tidy normalish hot rod engines. Some have crazy graphics. Some have weird cartoon (again) pastel colors. Some of these cars are well done craftsmanship.

I admit I don't understand them. My parents didn't understand Led Zeppelin. I might as well be a 21st century dude blasted into the next century trying to figure it out. But what is cool is that maybe vintage cars have a new resurgence. Maybe some crossing social and cultural (and age) boundaries is happening. Would I own one? Heck no. But I would dig going to a Donk show and seeing another aspect of hot rods I never thought I would. I think we should accept them as our weird young brothers
I'm pretty much of the same philosophy. Their car, their style. There was a gold '69 GTO convert local to me a few years ago. Solid looking car. I saw it several times without a chance to talk to the guy. About a month later, I saw it again and it was donked out. I didn't like it a bit but at least it was on the road and HE liked it. I was no longer interested in talking though..lol!

I look at it the same way. Next time your at an Autorama spend some time in the low rider section. Some really impressive craftsmanship. I don’t have any interest in a G body on 13” wheels but they don’t care about 8 lugs. It’s what makes the hobby great.

Now a 95 Impala on 20” Blades..... I’m all in!

I agree with your take on those , especially if they have craftsmanship and some complexity. It's an art form, and mechanical.
Have never seen one i "liked/wanted" - but can pick the best one out of a group.
So that's a start ....

I’m driving the ‘60 Safari today- Full Patina (original paint, light rust, a few dings, worn interior) and it’s on 20’s. Got lots of thumbs up all day. Definitely more popular with the younger crowd.

Anyway, I looked at the steering wheel and it’s got some pretty good cracks in it. I thought about this thread and got to thinking that the more 60’s Impalas I see on 24’s the longer there are going to be businesses offering services like steering wheel restoration. Indirectly it does a lot for the hobby.

Well, because it has that special firewall and a brand new Chevy motor. They make it extremely desirable.

Lots of $$ for a car missing the center section of the front spoiler. I can’t tell if it is a weird filter or swirl marks I am seeing.

That is a real nice car. It'll be a challenge to get that much money for it though.
