Default 1.875 Dougs vs OBX Header Comparison

Just ran a back to back dyno test and the OBX headers only lost 3 hp over my ceramic coated Dougs on my engine. Good header for the money. I did have to elongate some of the flange bolt holes to fit the 71 HO head. Some of the bolts are hard to get in as the pipes are not dented.

Any change in the rpm where peak TQ was made between both headers?

Same rpm just a bit less HP and TQ.

The opening at the flange in the OBX are a bit larger than the Dougs. I believe this is where the loss is, that and maybe the smoothness of the inside of the tube where the welds are on the OBX.

Yes they are. Pretty good deal considering they are stainless.

I got the “Maximizer” knockoff version. One of the center tubes make a near 90 degree turn right off of the flange where they mitered two pipe sections together. I’m not sure about the OBX version but I know the Doug’s aren’t like that.
Still pretty good for the $170 or so I paid for them. I dont think you could buy the raw materials to make them yourself for that.

Be nice if they had 3 1/2" collectors like my Super Comps. Do not think they would be of any use to me unless I ran it as a trues street car with my HOs.

Thanks for sharing. I struggle with the offshore stuff at times but you can't argue the bang for the buck.
