2 styles
If i could get a pic to post, I would show the 2 styles, for 70 one early, one, later.
QUOTE=keith k;5440972]Two different styles just for the '70 model year? Or are you referring to the difference between the '70 parts and the '71 - '81 parts, which are indeed different.[/QUOTE] |

Here's a bulletin on a hard to reach screw, possibly a reason to change it if they did have 2 versions?

Good info. Thought the idea was to direct water away from corners, only to create drain midway!

Thanks. Learned another new thing about these cars
It's bad enough they have all those "one year only parts", but now another one goes into the "half of one year only" parts category...

Does anyone know what type of plastic was used to make these 1970 only trim pieces?
I have my originals, and they have some cracks. I was going to used my plastic welder to fix them up, but first I need to know the type of plastic. Any thoughts??? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I would take at least 1 set, perhaps 2.

The repops are super thin and seem frail.
I will Purchase 1 pair, and I think that Ames might buy some for inventory /resale . |

I have a set of 70's and there's an injection molding business a couple hundred feet from my house. I'll take them over and get production cost estimates, maybe it's an item I can add to the Lab-14 products.

John, they are also the same on 70 camaros, that would probably make for more sales if you produced them.

Ya, the topic's come up on Nasty Z, Team Camaro , etc. a few times over the years when folks are looking for good used ones (I've always had Camaros also). I think now the early 2nd gens have gotten to the age and desirability that even rusty 6 cylinder base model cars from either brand don't get parted out. I remember parting and scrapping cars in much better condition 25 years ago than many of the ones guys are starting projects with now. So now it's much harder to find good used one year only parts because fewer and fewer are being parted out.

I'd be in for three sets of the '70 type.
This part seems like a perfect candidate for 3D printing...
