I just read a Kelley Blue Book article yesterday about the cars with the lowest 5 year cost of ownership. For full size cars, the Impala was #1 - for the 7th year in a row.
https://www.kbb.com/new-cars/5-year-...full-size-car/ The Chevy Spark was the top sub compact, the Camaro the top sports car, the Bolt was the #2 electric vehicle, the Chevy Tahoe the top rated full size SUV (Suburban was #3), the Colorado was the #2 midsize pickup and the Silverado was the #2 full size pickup. |

A friend of mine has an older, 2016 or 2017, 4 cylinder Impala. He was skeptical at first of a small engine in a larger car. The dealer told him to drive it and he was surprised at how well it drives. They bought it and get over 36 mpg on the highway. He is still happy with it.

I was impressed with the comfort , plus the fuel economy looks very promising for my long commutes so I ordered one.

I rented a 2018 Impala for a weekend trip to Chicago last November. Had LT trim, the V6 and 4500 miles on it. We put 800 miles on it over 3 days. It drove fantastic and got like 33 mpg. Only one problem. Had the worst seats maybe I have ever sat in. Could not get it adjusted to get comfortable. I also thought it took a lot of effort to get out of it. My wife felt the same way. The outside mirrors are kind of an odd shape too, would take some getting used to. We have a 2011 Impala for a daily driver that is about to turn over 100K so no stranger to these cars. Jim

I am eligible for the Ford employee discount plan.
A couple of months ago we had to rent a car for almost a month. Naturally, we wanted to try out a newer Taurus because the last one was not very comfortable. Instead they only had a newish Impala. Simply put, the next car we buy for daily driving will be an Impala. |
