Heater options
What are options for heater besides stock? Photos please.

That is a new one...will be interested to see what suggestions are posted. Do you live where it's very very cold? Most of us work pretty hard to keep unwanted heat out of the passenger compartment so it's unusual to see a request for an improved heater.

i'm gonna go to a wrecker one day to get one off of a small car, i'm cheap. Just need a window defroster

Not really looking for a better heater, just one that doesn't take up so much engine compartment space.

The way the firewall is designed; also the metal dash inside how it drops below the level of the windshield I think has something to do with it.
Can't see how anything else would fit in there and still be able to draw in fresh air from the base of the windshield. If you look at the way the dealer installed A/C set-up was done in those early cars you can see it was a total rig job piggybacked on top of the clunky factory heater.

Use a gas heater like Volvo, Porsche, VW and Corvair.
