Apropos License Plate
Always thought about looking for an original license plate to go with my Canadian sold car. The first day I decide to look, I find this one on ebay.
1970 = Year 400 = Engine displacement 3 = Ram Air 3 1 = First year T/A an official model H = My first initial. Blue and White combo goes with that of the car. Is that cool, or what? |

Cool stuff. Incidentally for California members here, in early 2017 you'll be able to use YOM (Year of Manufacture) plates in California for cars 1980 and earlier, instead of 1969 and earlier like it's been. I already got an old blue and gold plate good to go.

it is even the correct color combo (!). The 400 is great. I think you are in a private club on the 31H secret meaning though........

You're right, it's a standard plate made personal. At least each figure can stand for something.

I like both of those a lot. I am going to run a YOM plate, too. Found this one with original 1971 tab on it and the 071 number on it - not great, but not too bad.

Here's my find. I thought it was pretty cool to have "NY" in the New York plates. I like the numbers too.

With the CA plates, it's possible to get correct stickers as well. A little pricey, but would really up the cool factor.
Cool when you can find plates that apply in some way. |

Interesting that this should come up now.... I recently delivered a built Pro-touring 73 TA named Warpath to a client that had custom ordered plates "WarPath"... The owner wanted the plates and I thought it was a simple transfer however learned it is not. In Ontario apparently the province requires a request to transfer on "personalized plates" that is generally handled on a case by case bases.. There is no guarantees that they will allow the transfer, and most cases I'm told don't unless there are special considerations... Just a heads up for others as I was about to try sell/ebay off the Ontario plates "1970 455 HO" that I have had for years and never ended up using..... Guess I'll just keep them for a future project...
