70 GTO alternator bracket
I am restoring my 70 GTO non A/C and I do not have an alternator bracket
I see from inline tube that the correct alternator bracket is boxish and I had this in the past on another 70 GTO ( see pic attached) which was non A/C I am going to add aftermarket A/C and my stock 37amp wont work when I upgrade to the 60 amp HD alternator can I still use this bracket or do I have to switch to the flat arm type bracket ( I believe this is a two piece type ) Thanks Last edited by 70peppergreen; 08-16-2016 at 07:37 PM. Extreme early build '70's out of Arlington used the '69 style 2 piece at straps used on '69 models. The rest of "70's with factory PS used the large cupped 1 piece bracket. Have several parts tubs full of the common cupped style '70 alt bracket brackets.

my car is a dead on mid year 1970 / out of Pontiac MI
has factory power steering so weather it is 37 or 61 rating it is the cupped style ( maybe the rating does not affect the size of the unit ) Would you be willing to sell one to me in Las Vegas Nevada ? My other 70 with the cupped style had power steering also was out of Pontiac mi Last edited by 70peppergreen; 08-17-2016 at 12:26 AM. Reason: correct |
