I met Dan at the 04 GTOAA Nats, both he and DJ made my partner and I feel welcomed and as Ron mentioned above, like we had known him for years.

He even took us out in his 66 for a cruise down Woodward. At one point he even ran a red light (in complete safety I might add) just so we could get a group shot of GTOs!

I'd like to share a few of the shots I took on Woodward with you...photos of a day that was an experience I will hold fondly forever.

RIP Dan.
Thanks for sharing the pictures. Wow, that brings back some memories. The Red '67 with Black vinyl top was me. Great days.

it was @ 600 cars near Columbus...but yeah...I forgot about that one! He put the deal together and then kinda got shoved aside...and he had plenty to say about it...from what I DO recall!!! I cannot believe how many folks are revealing that when they first got into the hobby...Dan was one of the first guys they met...and they all remember him vividly! Same holds true for me and I am very honored to say so and to have called him my friend for over thirty years. Our sons grew up in the hobby and both remain there today. We lost a family member...no doubt about it!

Just so you know...Dan got the BIGGEST kick outta you guys! We were in the group pictured. I was driving the '69 Judge. Remember it like it was yesterday. Dan's favorite place to stay while in Detroit was a motel on Big Beaver Road...go figure! Thanks so much for sharing.

To Ron Cozzo and Ron Landis, my pleasure and thank you for the kind words.
Had a ball that day and Dan was an absolute gentleman.

Funny you mention Big Beaver Road Ron L...It was brought up in passing and Dan suggested I get a shot....

Here a few more shots from that day. I have another dozen or so that I'm happy to share if you think appropriate to do so. Most from Dans 66.

Ron's red '67 and the Judge we built for my Dad in that pic...both cars and my Dad gone now...man, oh man. Anyway...just know that if you ever come back for a visit...you still have friends here...and it's ALWAYS appropriate to relive the good times!!!

Ron, didn't really know you guys back in 2004...but found these pictures looking through the archives last night. Seems we all had the same idea that day of getting pics behind a Woodward sign like the '68 ad.

First pic is a 70 GTO my buddy owned, you can see Dan Sr in his '66 in line for the pic. Second picture I believe is your dad in his Judge and possibly Kevin in the picture with a camera.

I also remember DJ sliding getting pretty wild on the road in his '65 convertible, but couldn't find a picture. -Doug

just stopped laughing! That was actually the spot on Woodward where we all turned around and did our burnouts...that's my son Kevin there with the video camera. I'm driving Dad's Judge and I slid him all over the back seat when the car fishtailed in second...the seat had just been Armor-Alled and poor Dad didn't have a chance! That's Ron Cozzo in his California '67 behind us. Damn...those were some grrreat times! Thanks for sharing.

Well guys, here are the shots that I mentioned earlier. I may have a few more somewhere, but these were in my trip album and easy to access lol.

Thanks again Ron L and Ron C for the nice words...I'd love to get back over there at somepoint! Doug, you just missed my boofhead in that shot you posted...probably a good thing!

I've been thinking back about this trip a fair bit recently and the people I met and the time I had, I can't believe how time has flown...11 years!!

Thanks again for the memories...R.I.P Dan.

Thumbs up Grrreat times...

with grrreat folks! Caught a glimpse of Dad in the back seat of The Judge. He's been gone nearly three years and I don't have a lot of pix of him...so I appreciate those shots. The herd is thinning as time goes by. Thankful at least for these marvelous memories! Dan is the third member we've lost since December. Moral of the story...live EVERY day as if it were your last!!! Thanks again and take care.

Condolences to Dan's family and friends; the display at Norwalk was well done and a touching tribute.

Dan Gregory II will be at the Woodward Dream Cruise this weekend in this Turquoise 66 GTO convertible. Dan Gregory Sr.'s last wish was to have his ashes go through the tripower and out the tailpipes while doing a smokey burnout on Woodward. Dan Gregory II is going to make that happen and is looking for people to join him.
