Question Another value question.

I was kicking around in the parts department last week and came across some NOS parts I've had for over 20 years. Like everything else, they're going to go but I need to know what a fair value is for me & the buyer and never seeing them for sale has us stumped.

NOS Front spindle/hub assemblies with rotor, bearings etc, complete, both sides.
NOS Steering Linkage, center and end link assembly

Any ideas?

Thanks PY

They are F-Body Brian and already spoken for, we just need to agree on a value for what they are. Here are some pics.

You might want to price out all the same parts from Ames and then double the price for a valuation of your NOS parts. They should be worth at least that much.

I'm not sure what year the suspension is for, but there should be some dates on the parts, especially the center link and spindles.

At least through '73 the idler arm assembly looked like this:

I hope this information is helpful in determining a value for the gear.

Call me naive, but I don't understand how you can call these parts NOS, when they look like they have been previously used.

They may be greasy & dirty but they've never been bolted to a car.

Don't worry, the new owner is very happy with their condition & will have a chance to inspect them first hand too.

For the record, I've never seen NOS suspension parts as clean & nice as Greg's coming off the parts shelf or even out of a parts box.

So back to the question - no idea on value?

$200?
$400?
$600?

Chris, I'd say your $600 number is very fair. I would pay that!

Happy Easter...

Absolutely agreed on your last point.

I wouldn't want to guess what they may be worth to someone, but they will need to be at least cosmetically refinished if they're going on a "show" car, IMO (maybe your happy buyer feels otherwise...).

Once you have to refinish the parts (putting aside sheetmetal, which gets "refinished" no matter what), the value of NOS vs. nice used gets a lot closer.

$600 sounds like it's in the ballpark as far as a 'friend price' probably squeeze a couple more bucks out of it on ebay.
