Wow! Only 52K. Without the 22's it would probably be worth double that.
If he gets an offer of 10K he better run with it.

This is not what the title implies. I think it is kinda cool?

I kinda like it too...in a daily driver sort of way and the price is nice... But what's misleading about the title?

I agree. What's misleading about the title? Its a base model 1982 Firebird with 60K original miles.

There are not too many still around. Most were driven into the ground and junked a long time ago. A lot of people don't even know that '82 base firebirds came standard with poverty caps.

Hard to believe now, but the styling of those cars was pretty sensational in 1982, with Knight Rider helping the hype. What a futuristic looking car! I remember my brother even wanted a white one. Nice to see some survivors out there, especially considering this era was still the abyss in terms of quality...

Dodge Ram made a similar splash in '94.

The base firebird would have been a 4 cylinder 4 spd. car with roll up windows & vynil interior & single trac rear end. I know I had a base car for awhile. I used it for a delivery car when I had a party store that sold party stuff & flowers. It got great miliage & got around really great in the snow. The balance on the car was great. But the 4 cylinder didn't hold up very long as i put 2 in it while i had it & that was only 2 years. But it was fun to drive. Handled great with the 4 cyl. in it as the wieght bias was great.

What I should have said was not so epic or thread title? I need to proof read my posts before posting. This is what happens in my head sometimes>

I'm not that up on them either but from the prices that I've seen in the past, that hood is probably sold.

This is true but the V6 engine and Viscount(PMD) deluxe interior were extra cost options available on the base Firebird, which the craigslist car is optioned with.

I was going to make a similar comment. My dad had an '86 Olds Cutlass Ciera (same car, very slightly different sheet metal) that he bought from a rental car company. He sold it in '91 or so for $400.

He replaced that car with a (I think) 1991 Olds Cutlass Supreme which was even worse. His best Olds was his first - an '83 Omega with an electrical system that shorted out the first day he owned it.

Really a good case study for why so many people started buying Japanese...

That ad rouses my suspicions, it's way too cheap. If it was any good, it would be sold by now.

Either the car is a rolling Bondo ad or it's bait for something. I know I'd never go into Detroit with any money in my pocket.
