She's biding her time. About to make her move. Almost had it dialed in. A couple more adjustments. Closing on the leader.
Sorry. I was having flash backs of drivers like Phil Parsons and pick-a-Bodine.

So, after the Touring Princess makes this bold statement earlier this week:

"In general we've been running so much better, qualifying better, running better and just generally being much faster than last year … and I'd say in general, not having the results to show for it.''

What does she do in qualifying at Atlanta???

She has her worst qualifying result ever at that track.

Qualified 27th. Her previous efforts were 23rd in 2012 and 21st in 2013. She has never finished higher than she started in the Cup Series.

Maybe is she starts back far enough, she can finish ahead of where she starts....

She started 4 on the last restart, And finished 6. Kane in the 5 car got his first win this year, My driver 4 had the best car and lead the most laps. Look out she has one more shot at it next week. Tennessee Vols won tonight also.

That was a legitimate top 10 finish last night,I'm not a fan of her but at least she looked like she belonged there for a change.

Better than that idiot Hamlin who took my favourite beer car out

That was a "Perfect Storm" for Panica. A race track, if you run hard, will wear your tires out in 10 laps. Seeing as she doen't run hard, she had the best tires, the longest. Chicago is about the same style track, but not as abrasive, so he may do good there as well. As for Richmond, a lot of people will be running hard and rubbing fenders. She will not fare well there.

I have a feeling the #10 was as good a car as the #4, but does no good if the driver has no balls.

I live in Concord,we had track folks at our shop in Hooksett offering 10 ticket packages for 100 bucks.

We scored some good seats up under the boxes in the shade in a barter deal after I went to the track and repaired and re-calibrated the 2 sets of scales in the gas shack and the inspection garage.

In her 71st Cup race, she scores her best ever finish - a 6th. She also has a 7th and a pair of 8th's.

In 7 Cup races, Sara Christian had a 5th and a 6th.

In 33 Cup races, Janet Guthrie had a 6th, 2 9th's and a pair of 10th's.

Imagine how many top 10's and top 5's Sara and Janet would have had in 71 starts with the equipment that the Touring Princess has been given.

In yesterday's race, Danica was involved in a late race crash with the 17 car. On the broadcast, her crew chief asked her "What happened this time?".

Her brief, terse response was "The 17 car hit me."

After the race, here is the story as reported by Pete Pistone:

Quote:
JOLIET, Ill. – Danica Patrick and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. were involved in a late-race incident in Sunday’s MyAFibStory.com 400 at Chicagoland Speedway.

Patrick’s car bounced off the outside wall after contact with Stenhouse and suffered significant damage in the aftermath.

Patrick pulled into the garage and exited her car without speaking to reporters but the Stewart-Haas Racing team provided her account of the incident.

“I heard my spotter (Brandon Benesch) say that (Tony Stewart) was below me on track, and I didn’t know the (Stenhouse) was there on the high side of the track,” said Patrick.
Funny how the story changes after you see the videotape...

When did they change the starting grid from points to fastest in practice when qualifying gets rained out? It's too hard to keep up with the rule changes these days!

BTW - It really sounded like a significant portion of Danica's response was blacked out - leaving just the "hit me" comment....at least that's how I perceived it when watching it live.

Little more experience and he wins that race. Balls get you just so far, which was a good lesson he learned this weekend.
