1967 GTO Grille Insert Finish
Has anyone compared the reproduction grille inserts to a pair of NOS ones? I recently purchased a reproduction pair and the sheen seems to be much flatter and grainier than I was expecting. Also, after seeing a recent vintage photo from a thread on here someone mentioned the gloss that the photo showed which got me to further thinking that the reproductions may not have the sheen of the originals.

It's smaller diameter wire they use for the repros Bob.... according to the PY catalog. Makes the mesh look a bit odd compared to the originals.

I am referring to the plastic grille bezels, not the wire mesh grilles themselves; sorry for the terminology error.

I have had several sets of 67 Nos grilles. One side was gloss and one side was flat. I forget which, but these go back to the early 80's. I doubt originals were like this.
