Default 1970 Lucy blue RAIII 4-speed project, WIW?

I have been looking at a Lucerne blue '70 T/A 4-speed project for about a year now. Owner and I can't agree on price. Car is completely disassembled and in boxes. It is a numbers matching car. Body is solid but has a lot of surface rust from sitting outside for years. Will probably need both quarters and work in the windshield opening. Expensive parts are all there except for one JW wheel is missing. Low option car. Engine is disassembled and has been machined for a rebuild, but not put back together. What is this worth?

Thanks Chuck, kind of what I was thinking. He wants more than that.

How ironic that the 69 crusty TA is nearly a unrestorable levels minus key parts, and sold for over 22.5k. Compared to a 70 Lucy Blue 4 speed complete and matching is worth a third at that level.

Even though the two will cost about the same to restore. Restored probably a third difference too...mystery of life. IMHO the 70 is a cooler car....

Good luck on saving that one as it sounds nice!

That's the range that came to my mind, too.

"Disassembled and in boxes" is a major detractor. There's ALWAYS stuff missing...

Being in the market for one of these 70-72 Generally the price is from 8-20K with the price of a 4spd being more, interior colors other than blue a plus, 71-2 brings more $ than a 70. I think top end on a 4spd 70 with all of it's original componets is about 12-14. The same in a 71-2 is 3-5K more. Take the value of missing items off the price and the highest prices can drop or raise based on options and as said interior color. Some much of this is based on what your ideal car really is. That car sounds like 12-13K to me as I would rather a non blue interior.

I'll have to side with you on this.......the bright blue interior DOES seem to be the "default setting" for 70 T/A's....(probably 85% came with them in 70)...black IS a nice contrast on a blue car,but black interiors are just so visually "non'descript" ...they just seem to blend together with less definition...

The medium blue interior for 71 & 72 doesn't have the same sparkle on a blue T/A as the 70 bright blue does...

I agree John, the bright Aqua blue 70 interior is the ONLY interior color of choice for a 70 TA.

By the way, I have a 70 Lucy blue with blue interior RA III 4 speed TA project car sitting in front of my shop right now.

I agree that the 70 blue interior is alot better than 71-2 and to me (and we are asking opinions) the deluxe is nicer. My white 70 has black deluxe, my 71 has blue std, the 72 has blk deluxe (all white cars). I like the contrast of white or black with the blue. With a white car the blue goes nicely with the overall car, on a blue car it is just too much blue, would I not buy a car because of the interior color no, but I am willing to pay more for something is what I want and have walked away from cars that are just not what I want. I have too much stuff to not look for exactly what I want, and I have wanted a lucy blue car besides my gt-37 for a while, and at some point I will find one.

Black deluxe is my favorite on a blue car. You don't see them often. I'd love to see a blue car with red interior. Don't know if they made one?

I've got a #'s matching lucy blue 4 speed 72 TA with white standard interior that I would consider trading for a a similar 71/72 car with black or blue deluxe interior.

Of the ~300 70 T/As I've got info on over the years, 67% were blue interior, 25% were black interior. The other colors were all less than 3%.

You can add me to the list that think blue (at least the bright version that came in '70 models) is a great interior color on these cars. I would definitely not value it less than a black interior.

Well, I was close,sort of........
Also seen quite a few, back in the day that had "painted " black interiors...when that was a popular thing to do...with blue, green or brown showing through....
