Default 68 Air cleaner question

I just picked up a 6242826 air cleaner for my 68 400 convertible. I have done a bit of research on them and have seen that its supposed to be a 6242827. Are these the same bases or are they different? The air cleaner has had a repaint and a new sticker installed at some point many years ago but appears "REALLY CLOSE" to the 827's i've seen. I can post pics of it if that would help.

I have the original air cleaner on my 68 400 convertible as well, never knew some numbers were on it. Are they stamped ? If so, where ? I can check mine. Frank.

They aren't "stamped" but there were numbers on the white silk screen on the front of the air cleaner and there was a "keep your car all gm" white sticker on the pass side by the pcv tube from the valve cover

Pics would help greatly. I have an air cleaner from a larger car that appears to be correct also. At least for a non AIR car.

Looks correct to me but then I've never seen an original I know 100% to be correct.
