anyone know what year this stalk is? I removed it from a 81 turbo car but I'm not sure its original to the car.

Does Your car have Cruse Control?
Photo 1. This is what a 79 TA with out Curse looks like.
The lower one is the correct lever for a 79 TA
The center one is a Corvette.
The top one is an early 80's GM.
Photo 2. The TA lever is the smaller diameter on the right.
The correct lever is not reproduced, occasionally show up on E-bay.
The Corvette also occasionally show up on E-bay.
The early GM is more common, as long as it has the correct push and twist end it is better than nothing.

On the cruise levers, the '79 & 80's were last two year style to have the single button, designed for use with the new for '79 plastic column upper bowl with headlight dimmer.

'81 Firebirds, the single button style was gone, & there were two different versions.

The lesser version (from memory) looks a lot like what you have pictured (would have to dig one out).
The more elaborate is cylindrical shape about the size of like a lipstick container, before it tapers, like a bullet, towards the chrome lever. The black plastic shaped housing has a dime size diameter round button in the lh end. On the plane facing the driver, the housing is it is lettered in white font letters

SET................. CRUISE
COAST..........OFF ON RESUME
.....................(slide switch)

(Last, for those that are going to email or PM, I no longer have either of these NOS)
