Default It's Called Christmas.... for a reason!

I think everyone needs to see this. I'm sick and tired of the whole "happy holidays" thing. Go Fish explains it much better than I ever could.

I've been making it a point to say "Merry Christmas". "Happy Holidays" or "enjoy your holiday" is getting old and its very bland. If someone were to wish me a "Happy Hannukkah", I'd say "thank you, Merry Christmas". Nothing wrong with giving someone "your" holiday greeting. I welcome it.

The word "holidays" comes directly from Holydays. There is no getting away from it.

Saying "happy holidays" at Christmas is totally ridiculous. How many other "holidays" are there throughout the year? All my life it's been "merry Christmas", and I can't understand the sudden unwarranted change. Those of us who allow ourselves to be censored in this manner are just as guilty as the perpetrators.

Other holydays I can think of are Easter, Good Friday, Lent, Palm Sunday.

Agreed! Reminds of yesterday when I extended "Merry Christmas" to a new neighbor while at my in-laws. He said thank you. My wife then said, you know that those folks are Hindus, right? I suggested that he understands, and if he wished me Happy Diwali, I would appreciate it as much.
