I have some free parts. Like 2 62 wheel covers in ok condition, horn centers, other little parts , etc.... Should we start a thread for guys who need that little part? So a guy can bring them and swap. Real swap. I know I will have trunk room for stuff like that. What's your thoughts. John

Just an FYI, for those who are planning on attending the BBQ on Friday night and have not registered, you need to mail in your registration from to Bob ASAP. We need to go to the caterer by 8/1 with a final count. Little Indians officers can not accept cash at the door, sorry.

Default tempest reunion info

Pontiaclady
I thought that date sounded familiar when I read your post. Mine has the same scheduled date on the PHS. Mine is a Pontiac made car.

That is cool - be a real reunion for those two cars, they probably rolled down the line together - Mine was also built in the Pontiac plant. On line 0708 with a production date of May 24,1961 at 07:44 a.m.

It was delivered to Smith-Johnson Pontiac at 1210 N. Main in East Point, GA. The delivery date was May 29,1961 and it was purchased by Ruby Treadway in Atlanta, GA from the salesman G.V. Stephens. I got it from a dealer who bought it from an estate sale - the info was that it was a one owner garaged car, she drove until went into nursing home - sat for years until she passed.

What made it even more of a coincidence for us, was that my husband was also born on 5-24-61, that makes it easy to remember both their birthdays. I'm not sure what time he was born, I think in the AM - I'll have to check into that. We ran across it while looking for parts for his 61 catalina and could not pass it up.

This is all very amazing if you think about it. Two two door Tempests built on the same day and surviving for 50 years. Unfortunatly I don't know as much about the after sold history as you, you are fortunate. Mine was built on line 0240, the time code looks to be N41A, and was delivered to the Pontiac retail sales dealer in Pontiac. It is Coronado Red, with 4 cylinder, 4 barrell and 3 speed. It's very rough but it still runs and drives and I am bringing it for my first trip to Norwalk. I look forward to seeing the other Tempests and talking to owners. Donnie

Drag racing. An adrenalin rush like no other. It felt like going into combat, tasting your first beer, and losing you virginity, all in about 8 seconds.

Great pictures!!!!Thanks Gary!!! I went through & saved a lot of them to my computer. My camera died that friday morning & I did'nt get any more pictures from the rest of the event. Charging cord got pinched in the cars seat track & I couldnt charge my camera. Damn Kodak!! They are the only ones that has the charging cable & it has to be orderd through them.
