Here are some statistics for the 1971 Wagons with the T-41 option. They were researched and furnished by Fred Simmonds, then an Assistant Zone Manager in 1989.

Wagons built with the Endura Styling option (T-41) in 1971 - 125

Six passenger wagons with the T-41 - 47
Nine passenger wagons with the T-41 - 78
Total -125

T-41 Wagons with the 350 2 bbl engine - 96
T-41 Wagons with the 400 2 bbl engine - 21
T-41 Wagons with the 400 4 bbl engine - 7
T-41 wagons with the L75 455 4 bbl engine -1
T-41 wagons with the LS455 H.O. engine -0
Total 125

Transmission usage not available

I found the build sheet for mine in the third seat. Will attach a scan but it is pretty dirty and hard to read. The car was built in Fremont, Ca, and sold in Dallas. The T-41 GTO Appearance option listing is at the right center.

I found the build sheet for mine under the rear carpet on the drivers side. The build sheet was oily from the sound deadner. My car was built in Arlington TX and sold at Andy Klien Pontiac in Overland Park Kansas. I looked up the dealer on the internet and emailed them to see if they still had any records of the car. I never recieved a response.

Might lend that 455 HO (er, 471) a hand traction-wise, huh?!

Wow,i would have thought they would have built more 6 pass than 9 pass wagons, interesting.I would love to any of them but that 1 455 car would be one of my dream cars.

I heard a story on mine. I was told the hitch on it was used to tow a Toyota truck from Oregon to AZ. At the time it had a 350, ST300 transmission and a 2:56 rear end.

CD,
I don't have data on the '72 models. Mr. Simmonds might have had, but I believe he has passed away.

I believe you have confused Fred Simmonds with the late John Sawruk.

I do believe that one has been documented.

I love this wagon! Nice buy! I've had pix of this wagon as screen savers for more than a year. You definitely got your moneys worth for sure.

Wagons are COOL!!!

Like a bud of mine has said............nobody should be driving a mini-van..........they killed the wagon...........

For those who get Speed TV, this sat night at (i think) 7:30 there is a show called "speed test ride" with my bud Tommy Kendall hosting. The segment is on the CAN AM RS spyder three wheel gizmo, but we shot a bunch of rolling footage in the Malibu canyons with the wagon and few other cars chasing Tommy on it. Not sure how much stock they will use,but it should be towards end of the show. Could be interesting to see the wagon glued to a Carerra GT at 90mph..

I think the reason there are no dual exhaust wagons
1) the exhaust has to exit behind the rear wheels to keep fumes from coming in rear window.
2) gas tank filler is on drivers side, right above where the second exhaust would exit, hot exhaust pipe + gas = fire risk.

The 71-74 full sized wagons had factory dual exhaust available but both pipes came together and exited behind the left wheel well. The outlet was about 3 inches and the 2, 2 inch tailpipes were crimped flat on one side then welded together to form a larger pipe in 2 sections. I had a 71 and a 76 I equipped with aftermarket factory style dual systems. I however never have looked to see if the intermediate wagons were ever available with factory duals.
