Default Ive got a weird question??

Why is it everytime i see a street or drag car that the guy or guys come up the pass side with there fuel lines?? I brought mine up the drivers side with no issue,s so far. I still have to come up over the valve covers regardless of witch side i use. Is this just a personal issue thing?? Seems like i can tap into my regulator alot easier for my fuel pressure gauge with less line and less time. Whats your thoughts on this subject??

Most stock location fuel pumps are on the passenger side of the motor. Most carbs have the fuel inlet on the passenger side.

On Chevys that is, never seen a passenger side mounted fuel pump on a Pontiac engines...I think most Fords had them on the drivers side too.

So to sum it up whatever side the fuel pump is mount on the engine is usually (but not always) the side the fuel line will come up on.

Sorry, never said fuel pump on pass. side of car, don,t know where you got that at?? Ive been to alot of Pontiac drags and i would say that nearly 50% or more come up the pass side of the car, yes just like the chevy guys, and no i don,t look at those cars, just wondering why things are done that way. Oh last thing fuel outlet go,s to pass side of car???? Thats a new one on me, every Pontiac carb. came stright out the front. My 67 gto fuel lines , factory came up driver side.

Until Pontiac went to corporate motors. The brake lines run down the drivers side that leaves more room on the passengers side for fuel lines. On race cars It's just personal preference. It also keeps the gas away from the driver in a crash.

All the Pontiac pieces run down the driver's side -- wires, original fuel line, original return line, and brake lines. Emergency brake cable and speedometer cable are also in the near proximity on the driver's side. Go over to the passenger side and it's bare frame -- just too tempting to not take the easy way out. With the fuel cell and battery in the trunk, it also seemed like a prudent idea to run the battery cable down the driver's side (starter side) and keep the new fuel line on the opposite side.

Personally, I would prefer to have the fuel lines on the passenger side incase they they catch on fire or something. There are too many things already that "fry my ass", so that would be one less thing!

The simplest reason is that alot of guys run 4150/4500 style carbs, and the fuel inlet nuts are on the passenger side. Just plain cleaner to have lines and regulator on the proper side to begin with.

Don't forget about the pickup lines at the tank, that will dictate which way the lines are ran also.

Dito on the too much stuff. Brakes steering starter wireing. Easier to run the new bigger lines down the pass side at least on the one I did.

Fuel lines on the passenger side along with the E-fuel pump and battery, etc, help off set the drivers wieght.
