Oil Pressure ?
A friend of mine built a BBC and is having some oil pressure problems. He has no passes and very low miles (less than 50) on the motor. First he had a head gasket problem and got some water in the oil, which formed a white paste in the motor. He cleaned everything out put new gaskets on. Now the oil pressure is 40psi (was 80psi) at start up and goes lower when he revs it. Just wandering if anyone has had this situation before and or what do think the problem is?
Thanks Tom |

Might be..................
If he didn't pull the pump spring and piston and clean the crap out of it the relief valve is stuck. They have a piston under the spring that slides in a cylinder in the pump and if the pump dried out, it's stuck.

Thanks Dude, This makes sense. Do you think this would cause damage to the engine? Even know that it only has about 1 hour run time after the gaskets were replaced.
