Starter wire question
Which one of these small terminals does the wire go on? My car has been apart for a LONG time, too many beers since taken apart. Thanks

Usually the starter wire (smaller wire) goes to the small post that goes closest to the exhaust pipe. Make sure you face the wire away from the pipe and exhaust manifold.

The red 10? ga. wire goes to the S terminal & the R is NOT used on 75 & newer with HEI ignition.
74 & prior had an inline resister powered off the solenoid R terminal which reduced the runnung voltage to the points to about 8 volts so the points would last longer. Full 12 volts to the distributer was only used while cranking/firing. |

Thanks guys, sure is handy to have others peoples knowledge to fall back on when you have a question. Can't wait to get this thing running again, I've had my TA since high school (20+ years) brings back alot of good memories just sitting in it and pushing in the clutch pedal again. I'll probably have to have a few minutes alone when she fires up again.
