Default Need help raising money for charity car event - American Cancer Society

Our local club site is having a charity event in April to benefit the American Cancer Society (ALL funds go directly to them).

It is a dyno event where we dyno 20 cars, total up the horsepower and we enlist "sponsors" who sponsor us at .01 cent (minimum) per hp. So if we average 500hp per car for a total of 10,000hp, each sponsor will write a check out to the American Cancer Society in the amount of $100.

My reason in posting this is to see if anyone here would be interested in being a sponsor? It doesn't matter what company you're with or what it's purpose is. If you're interested in helping us out, please just pm me here. We don't collect the money until after event which is scheduled for April 5th.

Also, we're having a raffle where for each $5 donation, you get an entry into the raffle to win one of any of the four prizes listed below.

New Nitrous Oxide Systems Complete kit (shipped) OR
TWO 3-day passes to the AMA Honda Superbike Classic (B'ham, AL.) OR
TWO 3-day Passes to the Porsche 250 (B'ham, AL.) OR
One Hours Dyno Time at Walker Dyno Tune (Trussville, AL)!
(1st prize is the NOS kit. 2nd-4th is winners choice)

The raffle is open to ANYBODY and all money raised goes to the ACC. If you're interested in a shot at winning any of these, you can paypal any amount in $5 increments (each $5 donation earns you one entry; $25 = FIVE entries) to dixiemusclecars@charter.net . More details about this can be seen on our site at www.dixiemusclecars.com

Lastly, I'm kind of new at this fundraising but I'm hoping that we'll do really well with this. I wondered if anyone else here had some advice or tips on how to get the word out more about the sponsorship or the raffle??? Or ANY other tips on the fundraising for that matter.

Thanks for any help!!

Thanks to whomever stickied this thread! Way to support a good cause!

ALL money that we raise goes directly to the American Cancer Society so we could use all of the help that we can get.

Thanks to all of those who helped out with this yesterday!

We raised some decent money for the American Cancer Society and we had a total of 25 people donate blood.

We even got a mention in our local newspaper blog;

Helloooooooo Mods. This can be unstickied anytime now. This event is over until next years. Thanks to PY for the promotion!

What's really odd is that this thread has 137 views in 3 1/2 months. A two week old thread about a front loading washing machine has over 600 views. Priorities.
