Default antifreeze leak, rear of engine

Finding the occasional lil amounts of antifreeze in the lip of the oil filter. Also, find it running down the rear of the block/bell housing toward the trans. Does not seem to be originating from heads/gaskets/joints/seems, etc. Never a major issue and never loose any significant amount of fluid. Just an annoyance in trying to keep engine clean. I noticed this last year (it was and is only an occasional occurence---not every time I drive). I replaced heater hoses thinking they may have developed leaks. Seemed to correct problem, but I am starting to notice it again. I believe I heard the rear heater hose fitting is pressed into the block...is this the likely site of my leak?? If so what is the cure??? Remove/replace?? Simple job or do I need to find a "specialist"? I appreciate your input, in advance! 70, 400 YZ block...if that makes any difference. Thanks!!

Rx,
beg , borrow, rent a cooling system pressure tester.
pressurize the system and start looking for the leak.

Remove and either replace or correctly reinstall the heater hose nipple going into the passenger side head. It is a press fit. Grab it with a pair of pliers and twist it back and forth till it comes out. Clean the area well. Put a small amount of 3m "gorilla snot" or "Right Stuff" on the new one and using a socket of the right size drive the new one in. Let it dry. Unless you have a crack somewhere or a bad head gasket, thats about all it could be. That is unless the underhood wind is blowing antifreeze back from somewhere in the front......

Check your freeze plugs too while you're poking around.
