It`s been a while since I removed the body from it`s chassis and I have forgotten which way the rubbers go on my 66 GTO Hardtop. I bought a new set from PY. Does the rubber with the steel insert go on top of the chassis and the bare one go inside the chassis underneath?
Thanks Frank

The rubber goes up against the body.

The mount portion that has the steel sleeve goes between the body and the frame rail. The other piece fits against the frame rail inside the "C" section.

I'm in the same boat as these guys with my 66 Tempest. So does the steel sleeve (top) part of the bushing pair rest against the body and caged nut? Pretty damn stupid not to have taken a picture or drawn a diagram of these when I removed them. Of course "removing them" was like giving birth which is a painful event that people forget about.
Thanks.

Well this is the way I ended up doing it, & it matches up with what has been said & drawn. I ran a tap through first which is highly recommended. Number three had to be trimmed with a stanley knife, as it won`t fit in the hole in the chassis, & then the stock bolt won`t reach the nut, so you have to trim the lower rubber or get another bolt.
