Vinyl Dye
I need to redo the kick panels and carpet in my 67 and thought I would just use spray dye on both. What do you all recommend for vinyl dye? If I remember correctly the color is dark aqua.

SEM is good
do a wipe with the hottest(slow) lacquer thinner to soften the plastic just before spraying with carpet the key is to spray an area and work it in with a small stiff scrub brush. Steam clean and vacuum before dye.

You can order SEM at Walmarts, or go get it mixed up at an automotive paint store.

I was going to suggest SEM, but held back, as my last experience with it was almost 40 years ago. I applied it then just as described here, and it came out quite well (hard plastic interior parts and carpet; 1980 Phoenix, in dark blue, circa '87).

Thanks for the replies. My carpet came from Legendary Interiors about 15 years ago and it has faded badly. I think it was ACC carpet. I can get new carpet for about $200 but that involves taking out the seats and console. I figured I could tape the edges and cover the seats and console then spray it. I will remove the kick panels to spray them.
