Perfect, thank you! I have the same set for my 2nd gen but haven't started the build yet.

Looking good Erik! Just curious what are your plans for mounting the leaf springs?

Leaf spring buckets will attach to the dropped x-member. We have some really nice adjustable ( multiple holes) heavy wall buckets. They will be braced into the cage also. Then the factory rear frame rails will be boxed and tied into the chassis as well. Stay tuned, that part is coming.

The cage is starting to get crowded! Nick adding more tubes. I take my shot at skinning the doors. Not as hard as I thought it might be. Took the holesaw to the door shell while I had it apart to do a little "swiss cheese" treatment. Trying to lighten up this old girl.

Got the passenger door skinned and tore down the door hinges for new pins and bushings. I'm also going to put lighter springs in them to offset the new light weight doors. I found that 4L80E accumulator springs fit the bill nicely.

Also got a few deliveries. Our Glasstek hood and Stinger Fiberglass front bumper came in! So now we are just waiting on VFN to finish the rear bumper and dash.

Nick got most of the final welding done on the main section of the cage and dropped it down to fully weld all of the bars at the top. Once it goes back up it will be final welded to the rockers and tied in to the front and rear subframes.

Finally got a "good news" email from Butler that my custom "Turbo" pistons came in from Ross ( 9 weeks). I"ll be seeing them later this week and then I can take the rotating assembly to my guys at Burtonsville Performance Machine and get it balanced.
Got the block out of storage and clearanced the front where the 4.250 stroker crank will hit (400 block). Already had Burtonsville magnaflux, deck & pattern hone the block (4.157 final bore) as well as install oversized dowels and billet center main caps. Can't wait to assemble this beast!

I have Ross pistons in my turbo Pontiac ordered from Butler. Not sure if you got pressed( probably not) but floating pins. They forgot to machine the pin bore. I took them to my local machine shop. Butler did make good on the cost.

Floating, hope I don't have the same issue but I'll deal with it. Like I said, they have to go to the machine shop anyway.

Nick made the through the firewall bars and cut out the trans x-member. Flanged both sides and integrated a driveshaft loop into the x-member. We will be making another x-member for a TH400 also for dedicated drag racing. For Drag Week we have the 4L80E for the overdrive gear.
