Shipping Notification Interpretation
I like Ames - they have stuff I want, make it easy to find, answer the phone, have answers to questions, process orders, package and ship well.
I just placed an order and received a notification "Your Order has Shipped" with a tracking number. I immediately search the tracking number and find the carrier (FedEx in this case) says "Shipment Information sent to Fedex"
Would it be more accurate for Ames to say "Your order has been packaged and is waiting for carrier pick-up". Or maybe the truth is "Fedex picked up the package and they don't know it yet"??
This is not unique to Ames and they do a good job getting it out the door, but I've had other companies tell me something shipped and then find out it sat for days waiting for carrier pick-up.
To me, if I can't track it, it hasn't shipped... just my 2 cents.
Would it be possible for Ames to delay shipping notification until the tracking information (and more importantly, delivery date) can be shared with the customer?
