Heater core
So how bad is it to replace a heater core in a 73 g/a with ac? Anybody have any tips. Gotta do it. I just am looking for pointers. Thanks

My seats, console and everything was out so it was good timing for me. Not that hard just tedious and not a lot of room to work.
There are a couple hidden nuts to look for. If you have a service manual it will help locate them. I am having trouble remembering now, but I think the blower motor resistor had to be removed for access to one of them. I actually did mine twice as I decided to replace my firewall insulation after doing it the first time. So, if your insulation is in bad shape, you may want to consider that while it is out. That is also a lot of work but you have about half of it done with pulling the heater box. |

Thanks for the tip. I will order a 73 service manual, and i do plan on removing the seats. My car is a manual but console delete. So thats a plus. I guess i will start on it this weekend and see where i get.
