1972 Trans Am front spoiler
Who makes the closest to the original, best fitting front spoiler to mate with a steel lower valence. I understand that original and best fitting may be contradictory but I cracked the peak last year and a couple of the tabs are also broken so thinking its time to replace rather than repair. I assume they all need some massaging to fit properly but appreciate thoughts/recommendations. Many thanks.

Am I stating the obvious by saying wait until you find a NOS original GM part?

I was thinking about waiting for an NOS part but also question how well a part will fit that was in someone's hot attic for 50 years.

Good point and probably happens more often than not. However I'd say it's a guarantee that you'll have to spend perhaps a bunch of time getting a repop to fit the way you'd like.

The repro '70-73 T/A front spoilers reproduced in '95 or 96 were dead on. A good friend was instrumental at getting them reproduced. Several longtime collectors/vendors who are PY members bought at least ten. I bought and sold several of them, & put one as well as an NOS one away for my '72 & '73. The only issue I ever heard back on that initial production run of white molded T/A plastic front spoilers is occasionally out of the box one needed to add a little glue on an end. Have no idea after those first 1000 repro front spoilers who had more of them made, if they were off the same injection molds, etc.

The other I sold only a few years ago. I think its best to first find a good steel panel and work at making a repop fit that before proceeding to car unless you have a lift. Good luck, it can be done!

back in the 80's my great friend the late steve hoog (steved400 on here) started getting me to buy up a lot of items that were left in gm stock. i bought every remaining 70-72 front spoilers that gm had in their computer inventory. still have 12 of them left.

ALL the GM ones I have ever seen were white, and the early run of repops were all white too.
We replaced a few at my dealership, and one owner bought a spare on the spot when he picked up his car. my 2 cents

Pretty sure I have a picture of those somewhere... Edit: Yep, I do, on the hood of the 69 outside of your office.

Gary, none of the front NOS spoilers were a gray color plastic? Thats what I have w nos front spoilers & nos spats. Believe what I ordered are the last of nos, boxes for front corner spoilers say "made in Mexico"

I’m in need of a front drivers side spoiler for my 70 TA. Mine is badly cracked and pretty much beyond repair. I’m sure many of you have piles of them sitting in storage but aren’t ready to part with them. lol. Anyway, are the reproduction pieces currently available any good? (like the one below)
Btw if anyone wants to be kind enough to sell me a front drivers side spoiler I’d be very appreciative https://www.ebay.com/itm/1970-78-Fir...-127632-2357-0
