I saw what looked to be some messy welds on the attaching bracket;
I also saw the rear opening was closed off with what appeared to be a plate with a thick bead of epoxy... IIRC the 73-76 had molded spots where the block off was pop-riveted in place - this didn't appear to have those... The shaker for sure has been heavily messed with, but I guessed that the wing-nut brackets were the indicator of what it started it's life as.

The description is BS. Years ago, I built a U-tube manometer to measure pressure in the air filter housing. At cruise, the rear facing shaker made pressure above about 35 mph. The Pontiac engineers were way smarter than the internet idiots.
