Default Cowl seal problem

I have a new cowl seal that I just took out of the package and went to install and noticed that one of the seams is coming apart and it really does not fit very good on the passenger side where the plastic grill is. Has anyone had problems with these? This is by Supersoft/sold by our host also. I like the way it's made because it looks more like the one that came off my car

A picture of the problem area would help, but I just had to replace the seal on my '71 because it split at the seam. When I installed it, it seemed a bit short at that time and in about a year, it split. It is possible that is the same problem you have. The new one I received fits fine but it does seem to hold the back edge of the hood up about 1/4".
