14" honeycombs
Were 14 inch honeycombs originally available on 71 Firebirds, or were they just for the GTO and Grand Prix? I've got a 71 Formula 400 project, and it came originally with 14 inch rally IIs. I was thinking of going with honeycombs. I see that PO5 was an option, but I can't see if that means 14 or 15 inchers. I've noticed that 14 inch honeys can usually be gotten for less than the 15, and I've got a good set of 225/70-14 Radial T/As I'd hate to see go to waste.

ALL 70's Trans ams came standard with 15's. I'm with you on 14" wheels for your 71 Formula. It gives your car MORE character. (just say NO to big wheels!) |

I recently picked up a '78 T/A with a set of 14" honeycombs on it. The wheels are complete and in very nice shape. I'm going to put them on my '71 GP, they even have the correct '71 center caps.

I'm not quite sure why this is so, but I agree. Even though I really want to put 15s on my '70 Formula ... it actually looks more "right" to me with 14s. Go figure...

My worthless two bits:
14" honeycombs look funny on a bird. 14" rallyes do not. I test fitted a set of 14's on my F400 and they just looked odd. Put them on a LeMans where they looked great. Now have 15 honeycombs on the bird, the 14's looked small, mostly in back.....
