Water pump performance
Is there any performance difference between the different series of water pumps. Doing a 450-500 hp build on a 62 11B and need a timing chain cover. Would prefer original unless later units are superior.

Im running the 4 bolt water pump on my 63SD engine,I run a 8 bolt on my 62GP with a 11B 63 421HO block and run a 11bolt on my 69 block in my 69 bird.I find no diff in cooling with any of them.FWIW,tom

I run a Flowkooler on my '79 400, and it appears to have pretty good flow when I burp the cooling system during services. But honestly, I think the biggest factor is proper clearancing of the divider plate. I don't think my Flowkooler is performing any better or any worse than a good cast-impeller stocker.
