Dark phosphate on the springs and have seen olive drab on the hinges as well as a dark phosphate.

I have been really happy with these guys. They can about do it all. $85.00 minimum

Make sure the springs are pulled apart a little in order not to have plating lines when the hood is open and the springs are extended.
Just a thought!

Just had mine done for a '73. They were originally a charcoal grey manganese and I had them recoated the same. They came out perfect. Super Duty Bob gave me the lead(Thanks Bob!) for the guy who restores hood hinges. His name is Roland Hall. 818-845-3574. He strips them, takes them apart, opens all holes to new size and makes his own rivets duplicating the markings on the head. He then re-plates them accordingly and reassembles with all the correct markings. I could not have asked for a better job than how mine turned out.

Cool

Brew:

The hood springs are fully compressed when the hood is open. The get stretched when the hood is closed. If it were the other way, the hood would not stay open!

Sean: No problem with the Roland contact. I am very impressed with mine also.

Oh, you open your hood all the way?
Type before thought, Opps!
Well, either way you dont want them plated when compressed!

Hey Bob, are you going to that car this year in order to find out what she pulls?
