I just bought one of these wheels for my car, as my original was getting
some bad spots in it. The way it looks as it comes out of the box is crappy because the plastic is way to light colored and way too yellow in color. The actual grain and
appearance other than the color is very correct. What I did on mine is use 0000
steel wool on the rim, then brushed on a combination walnut stain/ urethane mixture I bought from Home Depot until the color looked the same as the original
wheel. I then let it dry for 7 days(the stuff is very slow to dry), the lightly 0000
steel wooled it again and installed it. It is beautiful now and looks very correct. I
was going to have my original wheel restored, but the repro wheel looks so nice that I'm not in any hurry to do so.
