Thanks for the recommendation, guys. Sounds like M&H is the way to go.

As far as troubleshooting the grounds with my existing wiring, the rear lamp harness is so butchered by previous owners that it's a liability. I'm not going to take any more time working on it than it takes to throw it in the garbage.
