I have done this Mod or similar to 16 Rally Wheel center caps now. I use different screws and washers and there isn't much clearance, but they do work. Have had to do a tiny amount of clearance work on the wheels for the tiny screws in some cases, Never seen. Balance was good on a "LugCentric" balancing too. |
good mod, seemed a lot of trouble. surprised the simple didn't show up anywhere. non cosmetic wasn't concerned with being pretty. simply cut the dome off my old beat up dust caps, inserted a flat round replacement same thickness piece of metal from the inside, welded on, place the cap on a pickle fork, hit center with a 5/8 socket to give it a slight dome, paint, done. cap & wheel fits right on with no other mods. quick, easy. used the lock cap as is. just sharin'
