Something doesn't seem right. Are you using a 9 keyway timing set? They can be somewhat confusing. The dot and numbers on the keyway don't correlate to the actual tooth above it. They are splayed apart. One for the keyway, one for the tooth to tooth alignment with the cam dot. Just a thought. Also intake lobe is the second lifter bore in driver's side. Don't mean to insult.
