The two large-headed screws with a slots in them are for capturing the rear of the hood in two wedge-shaped grooves in the back of the hood hinge flange in the event of a front end collision. This prevents the hood from slicing through the windshield and detaching the front seat occupants' heads at the neck, and transporting them out the rear window.

The two rubber bumpers are to support the rear of the hood (when it is not trying to decapitate you).
