In my 70 Formula with a tach, I had to remove the adjustment knob from the end of the shaft in order to remove the lens. If you are refering to the adjustment knob,? I pulled out on the shaft and then held the shaft with a pair of long nose pliers, I then unscrewed the knob with my fingers. In newer T/As there is a small set screw holding the knob to the shaft. Hope this helps.
