Latest progress...Dan & I removed the hood and I scrubbed the grease and grime from 45 years off of the underside and then, in a moment of weakness, decided to "RAM AIR" it. The hood alraedy had the RA screens installed in the scoops, and Mike (Judge273) sold me an original '71 RA air cleaner, and I had NOS black '71 'Ram Air' hood decals....so, pulled the trigger. While I did that, Dan swapped in an original '71 Delco distibutor and repop spark plug wires for the MSD billet distributor unit that the car came with. We set it up with stock points and is set at 12* initial with a full advance at 41* @ 2500 rpm, and 50* with vacuum advance. Should work well with the 8.2 compression and the Summit 2801 cam (214*/224*/112*@.444"/.466").

Found the AO Smith embossing and the original factory crayon date on the front hood bulkhead (2-12-71). There are alot of black paint runs along the back edge of the hood near the vents which may be factory??? I'm not sure, but it is satin black and has canyon copper overspray.
