Thanks for the reply. My electric fan comes on around 180° and will stay on till it drops back past that. I do have a gap (~0.5") around the top of my shroud which I'll try to close off...

Well, I got the old one off and after finally getting the new bolts with the right threads, got the new one on. My gap was only about the gasket thickness on the new one. I've only had it out once...
